Cyber School Goes Solar with EcoFoot5D

February 20, 2019  |  Boulder, CO

Solar Renewable Energy LLC installed 1,080 solar panels on Commonwealth Charter Academy's (CCA) roof in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The flat-roof section is secured by EcoFoot5D 5-Degree Racking system. The total system will produce approximately 500,000 kWh annually, which will provide one-third of the electricity consumption at CCA’s 180,000-square-foot Capital Campus, saving an estimated $60,000 a year.

Pennsylvania-based Solar Renewable Energy helped CCA get a $213,000 state grant toward the solar project. CCA joined in a power service agreement with a Solar Renewable Energy entity, and plans to fully purchase and take ownership of the system after six years.

CCA serves more than 9,400 students in its public cyber charter school. The school is committed to improving sustainability and minimizing carbon footprint.
